Our diary from the journey to Poland
Monday, 16.02.2009 we (Giovanna, Dominique, Frau. Schaper, Frau. Sieboth and me = Sophie) went to Lublin. The trip took about 14 hours and it seemed to be a fitness tour, because Giovanna had a really big toxic green bag. J About 22.00 we arrived in Lublin at the train station. There we met our host families and the Polish teachers.
Tuesday, 17.02.2009 we made a sightseeing tour to the old town of Lublin. Our teachers saw that there are a lot of pubs. As we had finished with the sightseeing tour we went to the print museum. After that we had a really delicious stop at McDonald’s and we were in a big shopping centre called “Lublin Plaza”.
Wednesday, 18.02.2009 we had a trip with a horse sleigh. It was funny because sometimes we almost fell out of it. ;-) After that we ate sausages and drank hot tea. Then we went to a park with a mineral water source. Later we were in Kazimierz. There we lost the rest of our group. ;-) But luckily we found them again. In evening we (with cold feet and red noses) came back to the host families.

Thursday, 19.02.2009, we visited a famous dance group of Lublin and it was really cool. Then we went to our Polish partner school. This school has got even a swimming pool, a massage room for the teachers and a fitness room. The students there have to change shoes and there is security service and there are security cameras. You can’t find any rubbish in school. Isn’t it a good idea for our school? The students wore school uniforms. In the afternoon we ate Donuts because it was “Fat Thursday”. (It’s a tradition in Poland that on the last Thursday before carnival they eat lots of Donuts ) The host families were really nice and we did lots of things. We communicated in English or with hands and feet ;-)) The students were absolutely friendly and asked lots of questions. Some of them even spoke German. Thanks a lot to the Polish students Anna and Michael who were fantastic interpreters. But unfortunately the time was over very quickly.
